Introduction

In order to connect my Obsidian markdown notes to GitHub Pages I needed to install and configure Quartz 4. So Hurdles is about my experience and lessons learned setting up and configuring Quartz 4 and GitHub, a ‘soup to nuts.’

Focus: Resolving the technical friction points that happen during the initial setup and afterward.

• Terminal Phobia: Installing Node.js, running npx quartz create, and deciphering cryptic command-line error messages.
• The Git Handshake: Generating SSH keys, dealing with authentication errors, and pushing your first commit without breaking things.
• File Path Disconnects: Fixing broken image links and internal links caused by the structural differences between Obsidian and Quartz.
